Carl E. Westover

Elkton-Carl E. Westover, 69, of Fairmont Rd., passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening in the emergency room at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh following an apparent heart attack.Carl was born May 13, 1948 in Salem, a son of the late Ross J. and Beatrice O. "Bea" (Williams) Westover, and had lived in this area all of his life.A 1967 graduate of Beaver Local High School, Carl was a master mechanic and diesel technician. He worked at O.S. Hill for 26 years, retiring in approximately 2008. He will be remembered as a kind hearted, generous father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Carl loved working on all types of engines, from lawnmower to racecars, he loved them all. He never knew a stranger, and could often be found at the Steel Trolley Diner. His wife, Stephanie S. (Seachrist) Westover, whom he married October 19, 1974, preceded him in death April 3, 2000.He is survived by his sons, Jarrod R. Westover of Lisbon, Aaron T. Westover of Indianapolis, and Derek R. Westover of Lisbon; sister, Beverly J. (Ben) Ritteger of Rogers; brother, Ronald R. Westover of Lisbon; 2 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home. No formal funeral services will be held.
