Harry L. Hampson

Salem-Harry Lee Hampson, Sr., 76, of Salem, formerly of Hookstown, Pa., passed away quietly at 5pm, Friday, May 27, 2016 at his home.Mr. Hampson was born July 9, 1939 and was a son of the late William R. and Gladys (Powelson) Hampson.Harry was a truck driver for over 45 years; a true Harley man, and was an avid bluegrasser. He leaves behind many friends.He is survived and will be dearly missed by his longtime companion and lover, Shirley Hofer; his wonderful "little girl" Foxy dog; his son, Harry Hampson, Jr. and his wife, Michelle and granddog, Zeus; his daughter, Tammy Gute and her companion, Craig; his granddaughter, Nicole and two great grandchildren, Nautica and Elijah.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; his son, Andy; brothers, Charles and William; sister, Marian L. Bernard; and his two dear furry companions, Molly and Lucy.Following his wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed. He will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered in the ocean because he believed that is where we came from.Memorial contributions may be made in Harry's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
