Howard Covert

Lisbon- Howard Covert, 85, formerly of Lisbon Rd., passed away peacefully at 2:35pm, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.Mr. Covert was born May 1, 1933 in Nelsonville, Ohio, a son of the late Maurice and Mable (Foughty) Covert, and had lived in the Lisbon area for the past 32 years.A U.S. Army, Korean War Veteran, Howard worked as an installer and repairman for Gordon Brothers in Salem for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. In his retirement, he and his late wife, Joyce owned and operated the former Olde Lisbon Antiques shop.His first wife, the former Janet Louise Hart, whom he married November 28, 1954, preceded him in death December 14, 1983. His second wife, the former Joyce Helen Price, whom he married January 27, 1985, preceded him in death March 28, 2006. Howard's sister, Norma Jean Dudley and his daughter, Joan Hendricks also preceded him in death.Howard leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Doug (Joyce) Covert of Winona and Dennis (Shelly) Covert of Leetonia; stepdaughter, Kathy (Chris) Leeper of Canfield; stepson, Eric (Amy Anne) Kibler of Lisbon; brother-in-law, Bill Dudley of Salem, and 6 grandchildren.Following his wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed at this time.
