John H. Krebs

Salem- John H. Krebs, 85, of Cider Mill Rd., passed away at 1:55pm, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Salem Region Medical Center following a recent illness.Mr. Krebs was born December 25, 1928 in Pottsville, Pa., a son of the late Evan And Estele (Wesner) Krebs, and had lived in the Salem area most of his life.A 1948 graduate of Salem High School, John was an Iron worker out of Union Local #207, retiring in 1983.He also served our country as a member of the U.S. Air force, serving during the Korean War. John was a member of the Independent Hose Club of Salem and the Salem VFW Post 892.His wife, Sharron E. Krebs, whom he married June 29, 1971, preceded him in death February 26, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Randall Krebs; brothers, Ronnie, Buddy, Harry and Charles Krebs; and sister, Shirley Strimbolus.He is survived and will be fondly remembered by his daughters, Janice (Roger) Sweeney of Lisbon and Michelle Krebs Bader of Salem; sons, John "Jeff" Krebs, Michael Krebs, and Robbie Krebs of Guilford Lake; sister, Darlene Kramer of California; brother, Allen Krebs of Harrisburg, Pa; grandchildren, Mark Sweeney of South Carolina, Jared Sweeney of Florida, and Jonathon Krebs; and great grandchildren, Katelyn Krebs, Nathaniel Bader, and Landon Sweeney.Funeral services will be held in the Grandview Cemetery Chapel, 1399 Franklin Ave, Salem, Ohio at 11am, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 with Donald Barnes, Hospice Chaplain officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow. The family will receive friends at the Cemetery Chapel from 10:30am until the time of service.Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
