Marianne Sturgell

Leetonia-Marianne Dent Sturgell, 47, of State Route 344, passed away peacefully at 5pm, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Salem Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with lung cancer.Marianne was born July 30, 1968 in Salem, the daughter of Margorie Gromley and Robert Johnston, and had lived all of her life in the area.A 1986 graduate of Crestview High School and the Columbiana County Joint Vocational School, Marianne drove truck for the Foust Construction Company of Girard, Ohio, a job she loved for a company she loved. She also loved her dogs, Sparky and Trixie, and enjoyed the going to the beach and tending to her flowers.In addition to her mother and father, Marianne is survived by her step mother, Deb Johnston; her loving husband, Douglas Sturgell, whom she married March 16, 2013; her sons, Joshua Dent and Mason McCall; her step sister, Lori Beth Johnston; her step brother, Rob Johnston and his wife, Lori Ann; her uncle Phil and aunt K.C. Gromley, uncle Fred and aunt Linda Gromley, uncle Jim and aunt Linda Gromley, and aunt Ruth Ann. Following her wishes, no calling hours or funeral services will be observed at this time. A benefit dinner will be held May 14, 2016 from 3pm to 7pm, in the banquet hall at Angels for Animals, 4750 West South Range Rd., Canfield, Ohio 44406, with a memorial gathering following the dinner from 7pm to 8pm.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Angels for Animals.
