Nina Chestnut

Lisbon- Nina Chestnut, 70, of State Route 164, passed away peacefully at 7:18pm, Friday, August 29, 2014 at her home with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.Mrs. Chestnut was born July 12, 1944 in Wichelmshafen, Germany, a daughter of the late William and Tatiana (Mamotenko) Jermolenko, Sr., and had lived most of her life in the Lisbon area.A 1963 graduate of United High School, she was a homemaker and had worked as the secretary at St. George Catholic Church for many years.She was an active member of St. George Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.Her husband, Gerald F. Chestnut, whom she married February 1, 1964, preceded her in death May 19, 1995.She is survived and will be dearly remembered by her sons, Frank J. (Lana) Chestnut of Lisbon, Michael J. (Rebekah) Chestnut of Hanoverton, and Mark A. (Tracy) Chestnut of Lisbon; sisters, Halia Pryshepa of Massillon, Hilda Ineman of Ravenna, and Annette Howard of Salem; brother, William Jermolenko of Cleveland; her mother, Vera Jermolenko of Salem; 9 grandchildren ; and 1 great grandson.Nina was also preceded in death by her infant son, David M. Chestnut.A funeral mass will be held at 11am, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. George Catholic Church, 271 West Chestnut Street, Lisbon, with Rev. Father Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, Dungannon.The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Monday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 8pm.
