Raeanna J. Small

Lisbon-Raeanna J. Small, 89, of Pendleton Street, passed away peacefully at 4:40am, Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Salem Regional Medical Center following a recent illness.Mrs. Small was born April 9, 1927 in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Raymond William and Elizabeth "Bessie" (March) Cullison. She lived in the Lisbon area until 1978, when she moved to Garrettsville, returning to Lisbon 4 years ago.Raeanna began working as a waitress at the former Cook's Restaurant and the former Crosser's Diner. She later put herself through college, graduating with a dual degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Needs from Kent State University. She had worked at Columbiana County Headstart for 20 years and also worked at the Lincoln School as a cafeteria checker and as a substitute school teacher. Raeanna also had worked at the Ravenna Unemployment office for several years and then retired from the Portage Private Industry Counsel in 1999 at the age of 72.She enjoyed being a 4-H advisor, was active with the Eagles in Garrettsville, and was a member of the Business and Professional Woman's Association and the Red Hat Society. She was also an avid angel and doll collector.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul F. Hobart and William T. Small, and her sister, Rita Cross.She is survived and will be fondly remembered by her daughters, Debra Lee Hobart of Garrettsville, and Vicki Jo (John) Warnick of Lisbon; stepson, Ken Hobart of Mobil, Alabama; grandsons, Ross L. Halstead, III of Lisbon and Ed Hutcheson of Mentor; great grandchildren, Taylor Rae Halstead and Ian R. Hutcheson; and great great granddaughter, Izabel Rae Halstead.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas DeMar officiating.
