Columbiana-George A. Parsons, 94, passed away at 9:38am, Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in the emergency room at Mercy Health’s St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
George was born August 5, 1929 in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Donald Andrews Parsons and Josephine Beatrice (Naso) Parsons.
He worked as a forklift operator at Honeywell for many years, retiring in 1991, and had attended the Columbiana Church of Christ.
George enjoyed travelling and had visited Israel on a trip of a lifetime. He also found great joy watching and feeding the birds in his yard.
George was also a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, K. Lucille (Stock) Parsons, whom he married September 6, 1975; his children, Robert Parsons, Allan Parsons, Linda (the late Fernando) Martinez; Bob (Dottie) Brown, George (Robin) Brown, and Rebecca Benedict; granddaughter, Angel Parsons, and several other grandchild, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Parsons.
Private burial will take place Monday at the Lisbon Cemetery. No calling hours or funeral services will be observed.
