Lisbon- Katherine V. Eversole, 100, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Salem Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.
Mrs. Eversole was born October 10, 1923 in Wayne Township, Ohio. She was the oldest child of the late Plain A. Walters and Grace (Merkle) Walters Ruhl and had lived in the area all of her life.
Following high school, she worked as a beautician, having her own shop in Lisbon and then later at her home.
Katherine was a member of West Beaver Presbyterian Church and she loved gardening, canning, and cooking.
Her husband, James Eversole, whom she married July 3, 1947, preceded her in death April 12, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John and Bert Walters; sisters, Ada Price Madison Mann and Maxine Scarry; and by her grandson, Jimmy Dean Eversole.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Dorinda Kay Eversole, Debbie (Ralph) Harrington, and Darlene Lee Eversole; son, Vincent (Gwendolyn) Eversole; grandchildren, David (Sandy) Eversole, Heather Eversole, Christina (Clayton) Snyder, and Jacob Smith; great grandchildren, Madison, Audyn, Camdyn, April, Jason, Brandi (Dave), and Ashley (Justus); and great-great grandchildren, Jonathan, A.J., Lucas, Ethan, Jayden, and Grayson.
A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
