Lydia Irene Bartels

Hanoverton- Lydia Irene Bartels, 76, passed away peacefully at 2:32pm, Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Bartels was born December 12, 1947 in Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Perry W. and Betty M. (Morris) Anderson.

Lydia worked as a nurse’s aide at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville, until she retired.  In her spare time, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  Lydia also loved animals and enjoyed caring for her cats.

Her husband, Harry W. Bartels, whom she married October 15, 1982, preceded her in death February 22, 2001.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Viola M. Gault.

She is survived by her children, Charles L. Brown, III of Goodyear, Arizona, Jeffery L. Brown of Hanoverton, and Rachel Brown of Cleveland, and her brother-in-law, Bruce Gault.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, April 9. 2024 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen W. Broache officiating.  Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and family from Noon until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
