Carl L. Poynter

East Liverpool- Carl L. Poynter, 55, of Dresden Ave., formerly of Lisbon, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his home.Carl was born August 10, 1963 in Salem, a son of the late Clifford A. Poynter and Rachel Poynter of Lisbon, Ohio.A Christian by faith, Carl worked as a truck driver with FedEx.He loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the Lisbon Eagles Aerie 2216.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his former wife, Laura Richards of Lisbon; his children, Carl J. "CJ" (Priscilla) Poynter and Brandie Poynter, both of Salem; step children, Kevin Richards and Dorene Troyer, both of Lisbon; siblings, Brenda (Rick) Counts, Clifford (Mary) Poynter, Joe Cross, Dominic (Tammy) Cross, and Lester (Kim) Poynter; grandchildren, Brandon Godwin, Benjamin Godwin, Raelynn Poynter, Grace Troyer, Hannah Mayley, Taven Troyer, Brooklyn Troyer, and Sierra Troyer; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.Carl was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas "Tom" Poynter, step brother, Timmy Cross, and sister, Cheryl Bennett.A memorial visitation and celebration of Carl's life will be held from 2pm to 6pm, Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Shenanigan's Pub, 220 Jefferson Street, Lisbon.Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be made in Carl's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.Friends may also view Carl's memorial tribute page and send condolences to the family at www.eells-leggett-stauffer.com To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Carl L.
