Darrell W. Smith?Lisbon- Darrell W. Smith, 67, of East Washington Street, passed away peacefully at 1:28pm Monday, March 3, 2008 at his home following a brief illness. ??????????? Mr. Smith was born November 21, 1940 in Garrison, Pa., a son of the late Clarence D. and Pearl Edna (Rhome) Smith and had lived in Lisbon the past 30 years coming from Hanoverton. ??????????? Darrell worked for 14 years as a substation operator at the former Crucible Steel company in Midland until he retired in 1982.? He later worked for Griffin Pipe in Florence, New Jersey. ??????????? A Methodist by faith, he was a life member of the Wilfred J. Clunk VFW Post 4111, where he was a former drill team member.? ??????????? Darrell was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. ??????????? Mr. Smith proudly served his country, first by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, and then reenlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he served 3 tours of duty during the Vietnam Conflict as a member of the "Sea Bees".?? ??????????? He is survived and will be dearly remembered by his wife, Barbara L. (Jackson) Smith, whom he married January 7, 1983; daughters, Mrs. Jeffrey (Bilynda J.) Linam, Mrs. James (Bonnie J.) Parise, and Ms. Bobbie J. Marple, all of Lisbon; son, Steven John Davis of Lisbon; sister, Mrs. William (Edna "Betty") Maclaughlin of Moundsville, West Virginia; brother, Earl Eugene (Kathryn) Smith of Albemarle, N. Carolina; grandchildren, Justin, Caleb and Gabrielle Crowl, Madison, Katelyn, and Cody Davis, Alexis Iagulli, Milton Marple IV, Kayla and Tyler Parise, and Jeffrey and Erika Linam; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. ??????????? In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary M. Dennis and Virgina D. Knowles, brother, Herbert Allen Smith, and granddaughters, Angel Lynn Smith Parise, Jo-Lena Parise and Isabella Parise. ??????????? Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating.? Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Salineville American Legion. ??????????? Friends may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, Thursday at the funeral home. ??????????? The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
