James F. Carlisle Jr.

Lisbon- James F. Carlisle, Jr., 90, of Y-Camp Rd., passed away at 7:36, pm, Monday, April 15, 2019 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Mr. Carlisle was born August 12, 1928 in Lisbon, a son of the late James F. and Mildred (Dotson) Carlisle, Sr.A 1946 graduate of Leetonia High School, James worked for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator with Buckeye Industrial Mining, retiring in 1995.An Episcopalian by faith, Mr. Carlisle was an avid woodworker and member of several area bowling and archery leagues.He also proudly served our country during WWII as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army.His wife, Louise A. (Ravoria) Carlisle, whom he married September 12, 1948, preceded him in death March 4, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his son, Dennis James Carlisle, his sisters, Lucille Ritchie and Alice Schreffler; and by his brother, George Carlisle.He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Keven) Wylie of Lisbon and Barbara (Theodore "Ted") McCullough of Georgia; sister, Mary Giest of Salem; brothers, William Carlisle of Seattle, Washington and Leland Carlisle of Takoma, Washington; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.In accordance with his wishes, no calling hours or funeral services will be observed.
