Robert E. "Bob" Miller, Sr.

Lisbon- Robert E. Miller, Sr., 86, of North Beaver Street, passed away at 5:55pm, Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Salem West Health Care Center following a recent illness.Mr. Miller was born September 14, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Emmett W. and Lola May (Hobbday) Miller, and had lived in the Lisbon area since 1990, after he retired from the ministry and moved from Campbellsville, Kentucky.Bob owned his own construction company and built many large and beautiful homes in and about the Pittsburgh area in the 1950's. The Lord called Bob to preach his word, and as a faithful servant of the Lord, he did so as a minister of the Gospel for over 40 years. He preached in churches in Hopwood, Pennsylvania, Wabash, Indiana, Rayne, Louisiana Paw Paw, West Virginia and lastly in Campbellsville, Kentucky. In his retirement, he worked part time for Gold Cross Limousine Service of Youngstown.Mr. Miller also loved his country and honorably served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.The love of Bob's life, his wife, Martha S. (Elder) Miller, whom he married June 20, 1951, preceded him in death August 16, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Trina and Lola, and by his brothers, Thomas, Norman, Lester, Lawrence and Donald.Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Marsha L. Kaskie of Lisbon, Ohio and Kimberly S. (Jack) Fecek of Erie, Pennsylvania; son, Robert E. (Shari) Miller, Jr. of Tennessee; brother, William Miller of Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.Bob loved the Lord our God with all of his being. He loved his wife and family more than life itself and he took great joy in caring for them as he could. They will miss him dearly, but find comfort in knowing that he is finally at rest with God.Following his wishes, no calling hours or funeral services will be observed.
