Lisbon-Samuel John Davis, 70, of Wayne Bridge Rd., passed away at 1:10pm, Sunday, January 27, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side.Sam was born May 31, 1948 in Lisbon, a son of the late John William and Izetta Blanche (Flory) Davis, and lived all of his life in the Lisbon area.He was a welder at Columbiana Boiler for 25 years. Sam had also worked in the maintenance department at Mellinger's Nursery and Landscaping, was a home sales and delivery driver for Swan's; and had worked as a press operator and in maintenance at Star Fabrication.He was also a member of the Winona Friends Church, Lisbon VFW Post 4111, and enjoyed playing the guitar, shooting pool, and pitching Horseshoes, in which he won many tournaments. Sam also proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Twila Ann (Pasco) Davis, whom he married July 2, 1967; sons, Brian Scott (Tracy) Davis and Brad Stuart (Jamie) Davis, both of Lisbon; sisters, Donna Hicks of Lisbon, Darlene Davis of Salineville, Sandy Leffler of Kentland, Indiana, and Lorretta Davis of Leetonia; brothers, Paul (Rita) Davis and Ray (Violet) Davis, both of Salineville; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Sam was also preceded in death by his brother, Ted Davis; his infant brother, Ronald Davis; and by an infant sister.Following Sam's wishes, no calling hours or public funeral services will be observed. A celebration of Sam's life will be announced and held at a later date at the Lisbon VFW Post 4111.
