Arnold F. Bruckner

Salem- Arnold F. Bruckner, 90, West Perry Street, passed away unexpectedly at 11:55am, Monday, April 23, 2018 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Mr. Bruckner was born April 30, 1927 in Salem, a son of the late Fredrick "Fritz" and Emma (Mieter) Bruckner, and had lived in this area all of his life.Arnold was drafted into the U.S. Army out of Salem High School, and served stateside at the end of WWII in the Medical Corp.He worked at Mullins Manufacturing, then as a janitor at United High School, and then as a grinder at Summitville Tile, where he retired in 1990.A Protestant by faith; he was a former member of the Scampers Camper Club; a former member of the Salem Hunting Club; enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and golfing, had played golf in a few leagues at Eagle's Pass, and was an avid woodworker. Arnold also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and had also served as constable of Hanover Township at one time.He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Carol (Richey) Bruckner, whom he married September 6, 1959; daughters, Amy (Darrell) Booher of Salem and Lori (Todd) Shanks of Andover; grandchildren, Grayson and Lindsey Shanks; and nephew, Scott Citino of Florida.In addition to his parents, Arnold was also preceded in death by his sister, Lois Citino.A memorial service will be held at 11am, Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating.
