Arthur L. "Art" Whitehead

Guilford Lake- Arthur L. "Art" Whitehead, 80, of Wisner Rd., passed away at 9:59am, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.Mr. Whitehead was born December 2, 1937 in West Point, a son of the late Aleck and Sarah Viola (Roberts) Whitehead.A Lisbon David Anderson High School graduate and U.S. Airforce veteran, Art worked at the former LTV Steel and the Republic Steel Company in Canton, where he retired after many years of service.He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Rose (Coulter) Whitehead, whom he married June 30, 1961, on August 3, 2012; and also by his sister, Virginia Cope; brother, Don Whitehead; and grandson, Brandon Scott Lyon.Art is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Mike) Finnegin of Malvern, and Brenda Lyon of Guilford Lake; sons, Kevin Arthur Whitehead of Canton and Shawn D. Whitehead of Guilford Lake; sisters, Joyce Reynolds, Eileen Barnby, and Rosetta Stare; brother, Philip Whitehead; ten grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.A graveside service followed by full military honors will be held at 11am, Monday, April 9 at the Woodsdale Cemetery with the Rev. David Crosley officiating.
