Brenda Kaye (Beverly) Leedy

Powell, OH- Brenda Kaye (Beverly) Leedy, 61, formerly of Canton and Salineville, passed away peacefully at 10:52pm, Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Kobacker Hospice House in Columbus, following a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. Brenda was born on September 1, 1956 in East Liverpool, Ohio, and was the youngest of seven children, of the late Robert and Edna Mae (Howard) Beverly, Sr. of Salineville. A graduate of Southern Local High School, she furthered her education at Youngstown State University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education. As a teacher, she passionately taught business education for a career of 37 years at R.G. Drage Career Center in Massillon, and moved to the Columbus area after retirement to be with her daughter and care for her first grandchild. Brenda was a member of the Business Professionals of America and attended the Life Point Church in Lewis Center. She was never one to stay put long as she loved to stay busy and travel with her daughter, grandson, sisters, nieces, and friends. If she was at home, you could always find her at the pool or gardening and enjoying the sunshine. She was also crowned as the Queen of the 1977 Lisbon Johnny Appleseed Festival. Brenda is survived and will be dearly missed by her only child, daughter Nicole Leedy and her fiancé, Jon Adams, grandson, Brennen Nelson Adams and her soon to be grandson, Caden Jay Adams of Delaware, OH. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her five sisters and one brother; Mabel Beverly of Lisbon; Robert (Helen Grace) Beverly, Sr. of Salem; Dorothy (Gary) Brotherton and Irene (Wayne) Carman, both of Minerva; Virginia (Richard) Rose of Lisbon; Barbara Beverly Horner of Twinsburg; and several nieces and nephews who she cherished very much. Funeral services celebrating Brenda's life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene, 505 North Market Street, Lisbon, with Pastor Tim Ginter officiating. Burial will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery. Private calling hours for the family will begin at 10am, Saturday at the church and continue until 10:45am, with public calling hours following at 11am and continuing until the time of services.
