Edith M. Pastore

Gahanna, OH- Edith M. Pastore, 89, formerly of Lisbon, passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 at the Otterbein Gahanna Senior Lifestyle Community following a recent illness.Mrs. Pastore was born August 20, 1927 in Lisbon, the daughter of the late Paul and Elsie (Griffith) Burnip and had lived in Lisbon most of her life until moving to the Columbus area in 2016.A graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, Edith was a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker.She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and former member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion and found free time for her love of painting.In 1948, Edith married the love of her life, Lisbon native, Michael A. Pastore. Together they settled in their family home on Sunset Drive in Lisbon. The couple had seven children, losing their son, John shortly after his birth. Michael preceded Edith in death in 2004.Edith is survived by her sons, Gregory (Charlene) Pastore and their children, Cristina and Philip (Maria); Charles (Bonnie) Pastore and their children, Daniel (Molly) and Diana (Mike) Hosterman and their children, the late Hope, Joy, and Josie, and Dean Pastore; daughters, Renee Pastore, Beverly (Joseph) Nagle and their children, Kelly and Christopher (Kristen) and their children, Claire and Jack, Lisa (James) Porter and their son, Zach (Alyssa) Porter.A funeral mass will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. George Catholic Church, 271 West Chestnut Street, with Rev. Father Stephen Wassie officiating.
