Gene L. Liber

Lisbon-Gene L. Liber, 79, of Ganders Flat Rd., passed away at 7:01am, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his home following a recent illness.Mr. Liber was born December 10, 1937 in Lisbon, the son of the late Russell W. and Leta I. (Chamberlain) Liber, and had lived in the area all of his life.Gene worked as a coal loader for Industrial Mining for 41 years, retiring in 1996. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.His wife, Carol J. (Perkins) Liber, whom he married December 17, 1957, preceded him in death August 13, 1991.Gene is survived by his son, Russell Liber and his wife, Shirley of Lisbon; grandsons, Erik (Moriah) Liber of Lisbon and Mark (Jill Wright) Liber of Lisbon; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Liber and his sister, Kathleen McKenzie.The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home. No funeral service will be observed.
