Calcutta-George J. Drovdlic, 72, of Bell School Rd., passed away at 10:41pm, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at East Liverpool City Hospital due to lung cancer.Mr. Drovdlic was born May 28, 1945 in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late John and Edna (Mikicic) Drovdlic.A 1963 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, George worked as a millwright at the former Crucible Steel and in the maintenance department at National Refractories, and retired in 2010 from AGC Glass.George was a fix-it guy. At home, at work, or at your home, there wasn't a project he couldn't handle including welding (as he was a certified welder), car repair (in person or remotely), and home improvement. He was a lover of food and cars, and a stickler for clean windshields. Some of his happiest moments were driving a 150 mph lap at the Kentucky Speedway via the NASCAR racing experience, standing on an Alaskan glacier, and exploring Rocky Mountain National Park and Sanibel Island with his family. George was Catholic and a man of faith, who was deeply devoted to his family. He never met a stranger and always looked for the good in everyone. When you couldn't find him, he'd likely struck up a long conversation with someone he'd just met. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and wanted to make sure they all learned how to drive a stick shift.George was a proud member of the Calcutta Lions Club and he enjoyed chairing the Beaver Creek State Park clean up committee and volunteering to assist bingo games at area nursing homes. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Marjorie (Marks) Drovdlic; sons, Fred (Jody) Drovdlic of Fort Myers, Florida and Robert (Carrie) Drovdlic of Columbus; daughter, Laura (Paul) Beard of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Casey, Andrew, Madison, Matthew, Zachary, Nathaniel, Emma, and Kathryn. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, John Drovdlic Jr.Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Wassie officiating. Burial will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 2pm to 5pm, Sunday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lion Club International or to the Christina House, 527 East Washington Street, Lisbon, Ohio 44432.Friends may also view George's memorial tribute page and send condolences to the family at www.eells-leggett-stauffer.com To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of George J.
