Irene E. Gbur

Lisbon- Irene E. Gbur, 91, formerly of State Route 45, passed away at 12:08pm, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Salem Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.Mrs. Gbur was born September 26, 1926 in West Point, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Francsek) Mellon, and had lived in this area all of her life.A loving mother and a homemaker, Irene was a member of St. George Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.Her husband, Steve Joseph Gbur, Jr., whom she married June 28, 1952, preceded her in death April 16, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis Gbur and by her brother, Joseph Mellon.Irene is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Deborah (Chris) Shivers of Lisbon, Carol (Richard) Blair of North Lima and Sharon (Dean) Ervin of Columbus; son, Steve (Carol) Gbur of Garrettsville; sisters, Elizabeth Chamberlain of Lisbon and Mary Mitchell of Moorpark, California; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.A funeral mass will be held at 11am, Monday, October 16, 2017 at St. George Catholic Church with Rev. Father Stephen Wassie officiating.
