William R. "Bill" Bach

Hanoverton- William R. "Bill" Bach, 89, of Canal Street, passed away peacefully at 7:55am, Monday, December 12, 2016 at his home. Mr. Bach was born April 14, 1927 in Millport, a son of the late Carl A. and Julia Marie (Housholder) Bach and had lived in the area all of his life.Bill was a farmer, bus and truck driver, and also owned and operated the E & L Ashland Service Station in Hanoverton. He was also a supervisor for the Shaklee Company for 37 years.A devote catholic, Bill was a former member of St. John's Catholic Church and was a member of St. George Catholic Church, where he sang in the Choir for 35 years. He was also an enthusiastic motorcycle rider as he and his wife had ridden across the United States. Bill was also an avid carpenter/builder, enjoyed woodworking and was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran.Bill is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 69 years, Catherine (Rump) Bach, whom he married April 30, 1947; daughters, Betty (Gary) Leffler of Richmond, TX, Sue (David) Kiewall of Hanoverton, Rosemarie (Richard) Isenschmid of Salem, and Rosemary (Dick) Corrigan of Columbus, OH; sister, Peggy Lowers of Columbiana; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 14 great great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed and Fred Bach; sister, Mary Spence; and grandson, Curtis McClure.A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. George Catholic Church, with the Rev.
