Barbara Jean Achberger

Lisbon- Barbara Jean Achberger, 72, of Route State 517, passed away peacefully at 8:35am, Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.Mrs. Achberger was born March 31, 1946 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Richard Stanley Hood and the late Helen Marjorie (Hawkins) Hood.Barbara began working in logistics in the furniture department at O'Neils Department Store as a young lady and then as a secretary at an electronics shop. After she was married, she was a homemaker and a caregiver for the Hammond family.A very faithful Christian, Barbara was a member of Victory Christian Center in Columbiana. She enjoyed reading her Bible daily and listening to Christian music. Barbara also enjoyed watching figure skating, the Ohio State Buckeyes, but most of all she loved watching her children and grandchildren as they played sports in school.Her husband, Terry E. Achberger, whom she married July 26, 1969, preceded her in death March 13, 2018.She is survived by her children, Tracy (Todd) Hudgins of Queenstown, MD, Troy (Denise) Achberger of Florida, Tim (Beth) Achberger of Lisbon, and Ted Achberger of Kent; sisters, Cheryl Pauline of Maryland and Debbie Heaberlin of Middletown, Ohio; and grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, Tristina, Alexa, Leah, Asha, Taylor, Tanner, and Brandy; and many nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 6pm, Friday, November 2, 2018 at Victory Christian Center, 350 State Route 7, Columbiana, Ohio with Pastor Randy Morocco officiating.
