Bertha J. "Bertie" Blocksom

Ravenna, OH-Bertha (Bertie) J. Blocksom, 77, passed away peacefully at 3:50 a.m., July 7, 2014, at Robinson Memorial Hospital, Ravenna, surrounded by her family. Bertie was born June 2, 1937 in Boardman, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter E. and Zelda Watkins. Formerly from Lisbon, Ohio, she lived for several years in Ravenna, Ohio, enjoying her vegetable and flower gardens, and gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, IVA Chapter, #311, in Lisbon, Ohio.She was preceded in death by her husband, A. John Blocksom and her sisters, Virginia Kirk and Dorothy Garver.Bertie is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Kathryn (Dennis) Giacomino of Swanton, OH; Debra (Maurice Peoples) Gallo of Salem, OH; Amy (Richard) Gallo of Akron, OH; Karen (Joyce Adams) Hurd of Kent, OH; her son, Robert (Stacey) Hurd of Stow, OH; grandchildren, Tambra (Pedro) Paniagua, Stephanie (Stephen) Curfman, Courtney (Joshua) Myers, Felicia (Brian) Lee, Rachele Gallo, Lauren Hurd, Andrew Hurd; and great-grandchildren, Parker and Kaden Paniagua, Gabriel, Haley and Emma Myers, Ethan Lee and Owen Curfman.Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., July 14, 2014, at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, 215 West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Pedro Paniagua officiating.
