Betty J. (Leipper) Long

Lisbon- Betty J. Long, 94, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Circle of Care with her family by her side.

Mrs. Long was born August 30, 1930 in Salem, a daughter of the late Harold and Nellie (Sneddon) Leipper and had lived in the area all of her life.

Betty attended Greenford High School and owned and operated Betty’s Ceramics in Lisbon back in the 1970’s.  She was also a former member of the Beaver Street Church of Christ and loved to play music.

Her husband, Henry Cleo Long, whom she married November 7. 1947, preceded her in death March 28, 2022.  Betty was also preceded in death by her daughters, Cheryl McGowin and Karen Wolfe; by her brother, Tom Leipper, and sisters, Janet Burbick and Carol.

Betty is survived and will be dearly missed by her children, Linda Phillips of Ardmore, Al, Lois (John) Kuhns of Guilford Lake, and Joel (Candie) Long of Lisbon, Ohio; brother, Ed Leipper of Darlington, PA; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Private family visitation will be held at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home and private graveside services will be held at the Hope Cemetery in Salem, Ohio.
