Salem- Bonnie L. Swigert, 64, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026 at her home with her husband at her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Bonnie was born August 24, 1961 in Salem, the daughter of the late Harry Dotson and the late Catharine “Katie” (Mellinger) Dotson Spencer.
A 1979 graduate of Beaver Local High School, Bonnie was a homemaker and had worked as a bookkeeper for a short time and then served as the assistant Postmaster at the Elkton Post Office. She was also a faithful member of the Beaver Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Swigert, whom she married March 20, 1998; her brother, Gary (Debbie) Dotson; sister-in-law, Sue (Jim) Dailey; 11 nieces and nephews; and 5 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was also preceded in death by her sisters, Karen Ketchum and Audrey Brown; and by her brother, Robert Dotson.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, April 13, 2026 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Marc Moore officiating.
The family will receive guests from 2pm to 6pm Sunday and from 10am until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
