Charles Blakemore Bear

Minerva, Ohio-Charles Blakemore Bear, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Arbors at Minerva in Minerva, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert C. Bear, Jr., and Virginia Belle (Fleming) Bear.

Charlie was born April 15, 1952, in Leesburg, VA. He lived most of his life in Northern Virginia, where he was a member of the Greenwich Presbyterian Church, before moving to Minerva in 2021.

Charlie enjoyed a wide variety of music, playing the trombone in his youth, and singing in choirs, choruses, and Barbershop quartets. He was an apprentice bricklayer, then worked for a tree trimming company prior to becoming a cashier for Safeway Supermarkets, where he worked until retirement.

Charlie is survived by two brothers, Albert (Charlotte) Bear of Nokesville, VA, and Robert Bear of Centreville, VA, two nieces, Alexis Bear and Jacqueline Bear, and one nephew, Ben Bear.

Following cremation, he will be laid to rest in the Greenwich Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
