Charles M. "Chuck" Powell

Leetonia-Charles M. “Chuck” Powell, 68, passed away peacefully at 11am, Thursday, March 21, 2024 in the emergency room at Mercy Health’s St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Chuck was born January 16, 1956 in Salem, a son of the late Clinton Powell and the late Thelma B. (Davis) Powell and had lived all of his life in this area.

After attending Lisbon David Anderson High School, he worked in maintenance at various local machine shops until his retirement.

Chuck had a love of music and enjoyed playing the guitar.  He was also an avid woodworker and had a genuine knack of being able to fix just about anything that was broken or in need of repair.  Chuck also had a love of animals and will be sadly missed by his “fur babies”, Sadie, Jake, Kitty girl, Callie and Shadow.

He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Charlene “Char” (Ganoe) Powell, whom he married June 3, 2006; his children, Harold Powell, Becky Powell, Jacqueline (John) Fennema, Jessica Blakeslee, and Amber (Chris) Lanave; brother, Vernon Powell; and grandchildren, Damian Rizer, Isaac Wylie, Devin Lanave, Braydon Fennema, Emily Wylie and Giana Lanave.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was also preceded in death by his sisters, Darlene and Beatrice Powell; and by his brothers, Gaylen, Robert, and David Powell.

Following his wishes, no calling hours or funeral services will be observed.

Arrangements are in the care of the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
