Charles E. "Chuck" Thayer

Lisbon-Charles Edward “Chuck” Thayer, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at his home with his loving family at his side.

Chuck was born June 3, 1956 in East Liverpool, a son of the late Clifford J. and Florence “Tootie” (Haught) Thayer.

A 1975 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Chuck was a truckdriver with Murray Trucking for over 20 years until he retired.

Chuck loved old trucks and cars, and enjoyed working out in his garage, but the most important part of his life was spending time with his kids and grandkids.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tris Anne (Jones) Thayer, whom he married March 28, 2009; his children, Charlie (Tiffany) Thayer, Allison (Tyler) Bardo, and Russell Poling; his sister, Missy (Terry) Faulkner; brothers, Carl (Lydia) Crow, Rick (Doris) Thayer, Mike Thayer, and Jeff Thayer; sister-in-law, Annette Crow; and grandchildren, Rorie Bardo, Cameron Bardo, Hunter Bardo, Nehemiah Thayer, Theadora Thayer, Mordecai Thayer, Isabella Poling, Sawyer Poling, and Bristol Poling .

In addition to his parents, Chuck was also preceded in death by his son, Cory Duke Thayer; and by his brother, Matt Crow.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Tom Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2pm until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
