Hanoverton-Cheryl L. Blackburn, 60, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at her home with her family at her side.
Cheryl was born August 6, 1964 in Salem, a daughter of Agnes (McLaughlin) Ridgeway of Hanoverton and the late LeRoy “Buck” Ridgeway.
A 1982 graduate of United High School, Cheryl furthered her education by earning her associate’s degree from ITT Technical Institute and had worked as an associate at the Farm Services Agency for many years.
She was a faithful member of the Fellowship of the Beloved Church, enjoyed going shopping with her daughter and her sister and playing cards. But most of all, Cheryl loved her family. She enjoyed going to the beach on family vacations and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, Kenny Blackburn whom she married September 20, 1986; daughter, Jenna (Kevin) Pontius of Salineville; grandchildren, Micaiah and Selah Pontius; sisters, Theresa (the late Jerry) Aukerman of Lisbon and Kathy (Jim) Gray of Hanoverton; brothers, Ed (Sandy) Ridgeway of Hanoverton and Dave (Connie) Ridgeway of Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Cheryl was also preceded in death by her son, Trent Allen Blackburn.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Fellowship of the Beloved Church, 13696 Bethesda Rd., Hanoverton, Ohio 44423 with Pastor Rick Lautzenheiser officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethesda Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and family from 3pm to 7pm Sunday at the church.
