Lisbon-Diane Lynn Cox, 75, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Calcutta Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Diane was born September 6, 1948 in Salem, a daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn (Huffman) Baker.
A 1966 graduate of Beaver Local High School, she worked as a cook at the former Lock 24 restaurant for 19 years, then she owned and operated Café 24 in Calcutta for many years.
A lifelong area resident, Diane belonged to the “Elkton Girls”, and she loved to cook and bake, but most of all she loved just spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Bill Cox, whom she married July 19, 1969; her daughters, Melody DeWitt and Melissa (Steve Radeschi) Mays; her brother, Kevin (Linda) Baker; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Konnor Buckius) DeWitt and Connor DeWitt; her soon to arrive great granddaughter, Amelia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Diane was also preceded in death by her sisters, Marilyn’n Wickline and Kerri White.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Julie Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at the Kemble Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2pm to 5pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
