Lisbon- Edith H. Tyson, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025 at her home with her loving family at her side.
Mrs. Tyson was born June 17, 1936 in North Sewickley, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John and Edith (Oliver) Shoaff, she was the last of twenty-one children.
A life resident of the Lisbon area, Edith was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Lisbon Baptist Temple, enjoyed crocheting and embroidering, gardening, raising and tending to her flowers, baking, and completing word search books.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Barb (the late Duryea) Ulbrich of Lisbon, Bill (Pat) of Centertown, Kentucky, John (Cheryl) Tyson of Leetonia, Dwayne (the late Mary) Tyson of Salem, JR Tyson of Lisbon, Tricia (Jeff) Capper of Lakeland, Florida, Larry (Michelle) Tyson of Wellsville, and Jerry Tyson of Lisbon; 31 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other loving family members.
In addition to her parents and all of her siblings, Edith was also preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Richards.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Monday, August 4, 2025 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
The family will receive guests from 11am until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Edith’s memory to the Lisbon Baptist Temple, 6428 Lisbon Rd., Lisbon, OH 44432.
The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the care givers and staff at Ohio Valley Living Hospice for all of their love, support and care given to our mom and grandma.
