Grand Rapids, MI- Eric Thomas Weaver, 38, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Grand Rapids following a brief illness.
Eric was born June 10, 1987 in Salem, Ohio, the son of Billie D. Weaver and the late Thomas L. Weaver.
As a proud graduate of Southern Local High School, Eric furthered his education at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and earned his master’s degree in mental health counseling from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. His educational accomplishments were reflective of his deep commitment to his vocation and his desire to make a lasting impact in the lives of those he served.
Eric was a compassionate individual whose life was dedicated to the well-being of others. For 13 years, he worked as a counselor, tirelessly helping people feel better about themselves, promoting positive mental health, and encouraging them in their personal journeys.
He was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and was an avid reader.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his aunt, Karen (Vernon) DuBose of North Charleston, South Carolina; his cousin, Kevin Charles Welty of Summerville, South Carolina; and countless friends and colleagues.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11am, Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, 16521 Steubenville Pike Rd., Salineville, Ohio 43945, with Pastor Terri Swails officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Eric’s memory to the Bethel Presbyterian Church.
