Eugene H. "Gene" Exline

Lisbon-Eugene H. "Gene" Exline, 81, of West High Street, passed away at 2:05am, Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Hospice House of Poland following a brief illness.Mr. Exline was born August 7, 1933 in Ohio City, Ohio, a son of the late Harold C. and Neva Hazel (Garrard) Exline, and had lived most of his life in the Lisbon area.Gene retired after 34 ½ years of service with Kaiser Refractories in Columbiana, where he had worked as a Lab Tester. A Methodist by faith, he enjoyed bowling in his younger years, and he loved all sports, especially football. Gene also enjoyed working outside at his home and had served our country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during peacetime.Gene is survived and will be dearly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Janice (Donnalley) Exline, whom he married August 4, 1962; his daughter, Jackeline Exline of Lisbon; sisters, Judy Anderson of West Point, Sharon Harrison of Rockwall, Texas, and Ida (Steve) Grabowski of Salem; brothers, James Exline of Salem, Russell Exline of Naugatuck, Connecticut, and Larry Exline of New Castle, PA; granddaughter, Ashlee Price of New Philadelphia, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.Mr. Exline was also preceded in death by his son, Eugene H. Exline, Jr., brother, Paul Exline; and granddaughter, Nicole Price.A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
