Lisbon-Evelyn L. Cochran, 67, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Hospice of the Valley’s Hospice House.
Evelyn was born August 27, 1958 in Digby, Nova Scotia, a daughter of the late Harvey and Barbara “Dolly” (Gidney) Peters.
Following high school, she worked in banking and various other jobs, eventually leaving the workforce to raise her family. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She was the “Super Cheer Coach” and the “Superfan” for her children and grandchildren, often volunteering, from the concession stands to the bleachers, wherever her children and grandchildren were, she could be found.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, James Michael “Mike” Cochran, whom she married April 3, 1987; daughters, Stephanie (Tim) Myers and Makayla (Jamie) Wise; step daughter, Lori (Jason) Wright; step daughter-in-law, Jennifer Cochran; sisters, Judy Carty and Jean (Sean) Brown; brother, Barry (Susan) Peters; grandchildren, Alania and Alexis Wright, Aiden and Peyton Myers, and Renley Wise; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was also preceded in death by her stepson, Christopher Cochran; her brother-in-law, Gary Carty; and by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jim and Mary Cochran.
A funeral service celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held at 7pm, Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall officiating.
The family will receive guests from 6pm until the time of services on Thursday.
