Salem- Hazel Belle Hamlin, 85, formerly of Lisbon, passed away suddenly at 7:53pm, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in the emergency room at Salem Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hamlin was born February 13, 1939 in North Jackson, Ohio, a daughter of the late John W. and Hazel L. (Wyrick) Rhodes.
Following high school, she earned her BS degree in Education at the former Youngstown College. Upon graduation, she taught at the Beloit Elementary School of the West Branch School District, until she retired.
A faithful Christian, she attended church at the Real Life Assembly of God Church in Salem and then later at the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene.
She was also a member of the Lisbon Senior Citizens.
Her husband, Charles D. Hamlin, whom she married May 13, 1992, preceded her in death April 15, 1998. Sadly, she and Charles, had no children and she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Darlene Miller, Jane Goodwin, Glorine Griffis, Walter Rhodes, and Art Rhodes.
Following her wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Charles, in the Jackson Township Cemetery in North Jackson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
