Former Mayor of Lisbon, Ohio
Lisbon-Jeff Snyder, 74, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 due to complications from open-heart surgery.
Mr. Snyder was born November 19, 1950 in Salem, a son of the late John and Rita (Smith) Snyder.
A 1969 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, Jeff dedicated much of his life to public service, proudly serving as the Mayor of Lisbon, Ohio, for nine years, leaving a lasting impact on the community he deeply cared for. He also served on the Village Council for several years, including as Council President, and was an active member of the Village Water Board at the time of his passing.
Jeff will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor, caring heart, and unwavering pride in his family. Jeff shared a deep love for travel, exploring new places and creating cherished memories with his wife and family. He found immense joy in the accomplishments of his loved ones and celebrated their successes with love and enthusiasm. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his devotion to them knew no bounds.
He is survived and will be dearly remembered by his devoted wife, Carol Snyder, whom he married April 1, 1978; his sons, Ryan (Nikki) Snyder, and Kyle (Emily) Snyder, and his granddaughter, Ella Snyder, who brought endless joy to his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Kevin (Lori) Snyder, and Steve Snyder; and nephews, Ian (Kate) and Drew (Meredith) Snyder.
Jeff Snyder’s life was defined by humor, love, and service. His impact on his family, friends, and community will endure, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at 11am, Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the Lisbon First United Methodist Church, 114 East Washington Street, Lisbon with Pastor Pat Smith officiating.
The family will receive family and friends from 5pm to 8pm, Tuesday and from 10am until the time of services Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, Jeff kindly asked that you take your family out for dinner and create lasting memories in his honor.
