It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda May (Conn) Black. Linda peacefully departed this life on the afternoon of December 31st, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born on a Sunday morning May 30th, 1943, in Lisbon, Ohio, Linda was a proud 1961 graduate of David Anderson High School Lisbon, Ohio. She remained a devoted member of the Lisbon community for most of her life, a place she loved and deeply cherished. Following her graduation, she married Roger Black, also of Lisbon, a dedicated member of the United States Air Force. Their early years together included a three-year period residing in Fort Worth, Texas, during Roger's military service, before returning to their beloved Lisbon.
Linda's legacy lives on through her devoted family: her son, Robert Black, and his wife Liesalette, of Arizona; her daughter, Julie (Black) Rambo, and her husband Mark, of Piedmont, Ohio; and her beloved grandchildren, Garret Rambo of Lisbon, Ohio and Sarah Abigail Rambo of Columbiana. Also, by her loved and devoted older brother, Harry Conn of Hudson, Ohio
Linda found great joy in life's simple pleasures and pursued her passions with enthusiasm. An active member of the local craft club for many years, she delighted in creating beautiful handmade items. Her culinary talents were equally celebrated, as she enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening for her loved ones. A dedicated fan, Linda's unwavering support for the Pittsburgh Steelers was well-known, as they were the only team she would ever watch. She was also a devoted animal lover providing a loving home to several feline companions over the years, each of whom enjoyed a remarkably long life under her devoted care, often spanning 18 to 20 years. An adventurous spirit, Linda was fortunate to explore 48 of the 50 United States, with a special fondness for the majestic landscapes of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the Grand Teton Mountains. She was proud of all her family accomplishments, however, her absolute favorite thing in life was visiting with her two grandchildren and watching them both grow up to turn into successful adults.
While Linda's primary role was a loving stay-at-home mother, she also contributed her talents professionally. Prior to motherhood, she served at the Lepper Library in Lisbon for several years and later had a brief tenure as a cashier at Hillyer’s Fine Foods in the early 1980s.
Linda was preceded in death by her dear sister, Joy Elaine (Conn) Tuttle, her brother, James Conn, her mother, Elizabeth Odell (Reynolds) Conn, and by a sister, Mildred (Conn) Cusick.
Linda will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Following her wishes, no services will be observed.
Arrangements are in the care of the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
