Lisbon-Marilyn J. Walter, 88, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Marilyn was born February 23, 1938 in Elyria, Ohio, a daughter of the late Dwight LeRoy Smith and the late Virginia Mildred (Jewell) Baldwin.
Marilyn worked as a housekeeper and was Methodist by faith. She loved spending time with her family, especially the vacations to the beach and family game night. Marilyn also loved to read.
Her husband, Plain Albert “Bert” Walter, Sr, whom she married May 7, 1955, preceded her in death December 12, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Karen S. Walter, and by her grandsons, Kevin E. Walter, Marcus Walter, and Michael Eddinger.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughters, Judy Eddinger, Linda (Terry Sr.) Surmaceviz, Audrey (Russell D.) Willard, and Roberta Walter; sons, Plain A. “Pete” (Phyllis Walter, Jr., and Dwayne (Kristen) Walter; siblings, David (Aggie) Baldwin, Russell (Elaina) Baldwin, Ronald (Pat) Smith, Rickie Smith, and Vickie Seacrest; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests from 5pm to 7pm, Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the West Beaver Church Cemetery.
Marilyn’s family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Buckeye Hospice, especially nurse, Mimi, for the excellent care, love and support provided to her.
