Salem- Mark A. Knag, 72, formerly of Leetonia, passed away at 3:35pm, Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Caprice Health Care Center following a recent illness.
Mark was born November 15, 1951 in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late Leon and Nina (Cahill) Knag and had lived in this area all of his life.
A 1970 graduate of West Branch High School, Mark earned his associate degree while attending Kent State at the Salem and Trumbull Campuses. He worked as a service technician for 25 years at Greenwood Chevrolet and Brittain Motors, retiring on December 26, 2005. In his retirement he enjoyed playing on his computer.
Mark was also a proud United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War and finished his 6-year commitment with the National Guard in Youngstown.
He is survived and will be dearly remembered by his loving wife, Marsha “Katie” (Shaffer) Knag, whom he married June 22, 1971; daughter, Carrie (William Michael) Rock of Newell, West Virginia; son, Michael Knag of Leetonia; grandsons, Nathan Jones and Tyler Rock; and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mark was also preceded in death by his brother, Dale A. Knag; and by his sister, Cathy Lee Knag.
A memorial service celebrating Mark’s life will be held at Noon, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Adkins officiating.
The family will receive guests from 11:00am until the time of services Saturday, March 9th at the funeral home.
