Lisbon-Martha Ann Oliver, 86, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 in the emergency room at East Liverpool City Hospital.
Mrs. Oliver was born March 5, 1938 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Barnhouse) Deiger.
A graduate of Canfield High School, Martha worked as a cook at the former Crosser’s Diner for many years. She had also attended the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene and was an avid reader. Martha and her late husband, Jim, will be remembered by the Lisbon community for taking tickets at Lisbon David Anderson school athletic events for more than 30 years. She also enjoyed making crafts, crocheting and babysitting.
Her husband, James E. “Jim” Oliver, whom she married June 8, 1964, preceded her in death on April 27, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Hunt; her brother, Nick Deiger, her sisters, Ada Mae Neff and Alberta Ludt.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Dianne (Chuck) Foster of Hanoverton, Sandy (the late Paul) Robinson of Glenmoor, Mary Ann Patterson of Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin, and Julie (Bill) Crist of Edmonton, Kentucky; sons, David (Anna) Deiger of Austintown, Scott (Karen) Perkins of Columbus, Mark (Kerry) Oliver of New Waterford, Jim Oliver of Leetonia, and Scot (Jennifer) Oliver of Columbiana; sisters, Judy Everson of Boardman; brother, John David Deiger of Brookfield, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and family from 5pm to 8pm, Tuesday and from 10am until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Crossroads at Beaver Creek Assisted Living/Memory care for their care, love and support of Martha during the past 4 years while she resided there.
