Salem-Patricia Ann “Patsy” Davner, 88, passed away at her home Friday, August 22, 2025.
Patsy was born August 6, 1937 in Lisbon, a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Dora I. (Helman) Sloss and had lived in various parts of the country, moving back to Salem in 2003.
A graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, she had worked as a cleaner at the Columbiana County Cort House for many years, as well as cleaning for a casino, while living out West.
A huge fan of Elvis Presley, Patsy also loved to play cards and in her younger years she was a member of several card clubs.
She is survived by her children, Paul E. “Eddie” (Michelle) Davner of Damascus, Linda A. Davner of Salem, and Patricia “Patti” E. Thornhill of Lisbon; grandchildren, Amy, Shawn, Mandi, and Marissa; and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Patsy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Chamberlain, granddaughter, Megan Thornhill; lifelong companion, John Charles Ewing, Jr., and all of her siblings.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at New Lebanon Cemetery near Gavers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
