Robert R. "Bobby" Hunt, Jr.

Lisbon-Robert R. “Bobby” Hunt, Jr., 62, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Bobby was born October 11, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Kathryn “Kathy” (Harrison) Hunt and the late Robert R. “Bob” Hunt, Sr.

He grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he developed a lifelong love for the University of Michigan Wolverines.

A 1982 graduate of Beaver Local High School, Bobby was a semi-truck driver and worked at Hunt’s Truck Parts for many years. 

Bobby was a person who gave freely of his time and possessions, always willing to lend a hand or help anyone who asked.  As a long time member of the Lisbon Eagles, where he held many offices, as President, Trustee, Secretary, District 8 Chairman, and Treasurer for over 20 plus years, he exemplified their motto of “People helping people”. Since he was 18 years old, he would donate his time to spread a little holiday cheer at Christmas by playing Santa Claus, so that anyone could receive a free picture with Santa, this he did for many Tri-state organizations.  He was proud of spearheading the fundraising for the 1st set of Jaws of Life, that were donated to the Lisbon Fire Department from the Eagles back in the 1990’s.  Bobby was also a member of the Lisbon VFW and enjoyed building and participating in demolition derbies with his son, Tony. He also loved cars, motorcycles, and fishing.

His wife, Linda Hunt, whom he married on June 16, 1984, preceded him in death on September 17, 1996.

In addition to his mother, Kathy Hunt; He is survived and will be deeply missed by his son, Tony (Ashley) Hunt of Lisbon; his brothers, Darryl Hunt and Brian (Tammy) Hunt, both of Lisbon; his granddaughter, Layla Hunt; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Phil Bartholomew officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11am until 2pm at the funeral home Saturday.
