Roger Lee Knecht

Myrtle Beach, SC- Roger L. Knecht, 67, formerly of Lisbon, passed away at 9am, Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.Roger was born June 1, 1950 in Salem, a son of the late Elmer L. Knecht and Ruth (Thomas) Knecht of Lisbon. A graduate of United High School, he was employed as a pump assembler at Crane Deming Pump company, until his retirement in 2000. He was also the owner of Craft Connection. After moving to Myrtle Beach, SC, he worked as a bus driver for Horry County and also as a pool maintenance worker for the Myrtle Beach Travel Park. Roger was Catholic by faith and was a member of 4-H as a kid.He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Beverly (Hoyt) Knecht, whom he married Nov. 25, 1975; sons, James (Coleen) Dailey and Christopher (Stacy) Knecht, all of Georgia; sister, Connie Bradley of Lisbon; grandchildren, Cameron, Brandon, Mark Alan, Hannah and Elizabeth.Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. James McKarns officiating.
