Romie "Sonny" Cornett

Lisbon, OH- With deep sadness, we share the loss of our beloved, Romie Eugene “Sonny” Cornett.  Sonny passed away peacefully at home on Thursday. December 5, 2024 after battling a long-term illness for many years.

He was born on September 6, 1948 in Spencer, West Virginia, a son of the late Juanita (Snyder) Cornett.

Sonny worked in the environmental services field for over 30 years, retiring in 2016 from Hull’s Environmental Inc.

A lover of music, Sonny played guitar with several bands in his early years, and he enjoyed sharing his passion for music with his family and friends.

Sonny also loved the outdoors and spent many years teaching his children to appreciate nature and all its beauty and splendor.

Sonny is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Patricia “Pat” (Whyte) Cornett, whom he married December 30, 1987; his children, Jarod Cornett of Springfield, IL, Kevin Whyte (Caitlin Fitzgerald) of Greenville, NC and daughter, Ellisyn; Brittny Cornett  (Tommy Castillo) of Chatham, IL, and their children, Madison, Morgan, and Lydia; Staci (Mark) McCullough of York, SC and their children, Rylan and Micah, Danielle Lee (Leo Clements) of Beaver Falls, PA and their daughter, Jayla, and Katherine Lee of Beaver Falls, PA and her  sons, Damian, Dominic, and Devin.  Sonny will also be dearly missed by his loving “fur babies” Louie and Heidi.

In addition to his parents, Sonny was also preceded in death by his sister and his brother-in-law, Janet and Buck Anthony and by his favorite dog, Beanz.

Following his wishes, no funeral services will be observed at this time.
