Lisbon-Thomas E. Homan Jr., 59, sadly left us on Friday, October 4, 2024, following his courageous battle with cancer.
Thomas was born December 10, 1964 in Salem, a son of Barbara (Richards) Homan and the late Thomas E. Homan.
While not formally educated, he was a well-skilled jack of all trades, a true example of the working man. Thomas proudly spent the majority of his working life traveling the country, as a “Brother of the High Steel”, maintaining electrical and communication towers with his blood brothers and good men he came to regard as such. He had a deep and abiding love for nature, often found whittling away at a new pipe or casting a line in a favorite fishing hole.
Thomas’ true character is what those who knew and loved him will remember him by. A truly loving soul, overflowing with generosity, he never met a stranger. He helped countless people without hesitation or expectation for reciprocity. Most of all he tried to live without judgment and with abundant forgiveness, no matter the slight. He will live on through all the lives he touched. Thomas’ legacy echoes in eternity.
He leaves behind his mother, Barbara Homan, wife, Lisa McCullough; his five children, son, Thomas E. Homan lll; daughters, Rachel E. Homan, Deanna J. Smedley, Willi E. McCullough, and Harli McCullough; six remaining siblings and their spouses, Georgia and Steve Rogers, Barbara and Albert Houp, David and Peggy Homan, Daniel and Virginia Homan, Steven and Terri Homan, and Robert Homan. To his seven grandchildren he will always be remembered as "Happy Pappy”.
He will be laid to rest with his late father, Thomas E. Homan and his late brother, Gary Dean Homan at the Ketchum - Lee Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
