Malvern — Warren Edward Kelm, 74, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from injuries sustained in an industrial accident.
He was born March 9, 1952, in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Robert P. and Ruth Eleanor (Nold) Kelm and was a 1970 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School. Warren continued his education at The Ohio State University, where he was a proud member of the marching band and earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He went on to own and operate several businesses in the coal mining and land reclamation industries. Known for his sharp intellect and innovative thinking, Warren held multiple patents related to coal mining.
Warren had a deep appreciation for history and music. He enjoyed collecting antiques, Civil War relics, and phonographs, and was an accomplished pianist and organist who generously shared his talents by playing for area churches when needed.
He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and devotion to his family. Warren was always willing to lend a helping hand and had a special affection for animals, especially cats. He also loved the outdoors and cherished time spent boating with family on Lake Mohawk.
He is survived by his daughter, Carly (Rick) Stockburger of Arlington, Virginia; his grandchildren, Reagan and Jacob Stockburger; his sister, Deanna Ruth (Steve) Danner of Lisbon; his brothers, Brian Robert (Kathy) Kelm and Jon Bradley (Jackie) Kelm, both of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends and business associates.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. James Samuel (Sharon) Kelm of Los Angeles, California.
Warren will be cremated, and private inurnment will take place at the Lisbon Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Warren’s memory to the Lisbon Landmark Foundation, 120 North Market Street, Lisbon, Ohio 44432, whose mission is the preservation of historic buildings in Lisbon.
